KUALA LUMPUR (June 26): Amtek Holdings Bhd, which hit limit up today, is not aware of any corporate development that might have led to the recent rise in its share price.

Clothing and shoe manufacturer Amtek said this in a statement to Bursa Malaysia after the bourse regulator issued an unusual market activity (UMA) query on Amtek.

Amtek shares hit limit up after rising as much as 30 sen or 53% to 87 sen. The stock reduced gains to close at 58 sen with some 1.3 million shares done.

Shares of Amtek had risen to its current level from about 33 sen early this month.
