KUALA LUMPUR: There was significant foreign inflow to the local
bourse last week, with a cumulative RM6.7bil net inflow of foreign
funds to Malaysia for the year up to last Friday, a research house said.
MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Bhd said the increased foreign funds reflected improved optimism by foreign investors in the region, particularly Malaysia.
“It
was much higher compared with only RM1.9bil for the entire 2011. Since
January 2010, cumulative net purchase of Bursa-listed shares by
foreigners totalled RM23.9 billion,” it said in its Fund Flow Report. -
