Making a comeback from a huge lost in the stock market Empty Making a comeback from a huge lost in the stock market

as traders/investors from time to time no matter how careful we are. we will suffer a huge lost in the stock market. during that time many of us either:

  • tremendously increase our buying say from 500 lots normal to 3000 lots... in hope to make back the money we lost and some profit....
  • walk away from the stock market because of the losses
  • stay in the stock market but dont dare to trade as the losses are at the back of your mind

so what can we do to overcome this? after interviewing some of the top traders.....here is some pointers

  1. scale down trade smaller. until you gain back your confidence. say u play 1000 lots scale down to 500 lots and try.
  2. a wnning streak will help. consistantly winning like 10-20 trades with minimum losses in between
  3. a huge win can help but it is very risky as huge win means huge risk
  4. the very moment you made a huge lost fr those with weak mind take rest or take a break from the market. but dont rest too long else you will lose all your confidence and you have to start from scratch.
  5. dont rush wait for good opportuinity to strike back. the stock market is huge there is always another stock out there to cover your losses
  6. never ever let your emotion take over. i saw some traders who made huge losses double or triple their buying quantity. though some of them made their losses back, most of them burnt their life savings right there and then.
  7. evaluate, think about how you make the lost. and take step to prevent it from happening again.

if possible cut your losses short before it turn into a huge lost. but just in case it happens apply the above tips [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

maybe you need to discover something, do not rest as you need excercise. try paper as a method of excercise; keeps you on your toes
