Bank Negara maintains overnight policy rate at 3%

KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) maintained the overnight policy rate (OPR) at 3% at its Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting on Thursday.
It said inflation in the first quarter ended March 31 remained low at 1.5%
"While
inflation is expected to continue to rise during the year, it is
projected to remain modest. Domestic supply and cost factors are
expected to contribute to higher prices," it said.
BNM said the
MPC considered the current stance of monetary policy to be appropriate
given the outlook for inflation and growth.
