KUALA LUMPUR: Dayang Enterprise, which recently secured a RM2bil contract from Sabah and Sarawak Shell, has awarded a RM705mil job to Perdana Petroleum to suppy several barges for its operations.
Perdana Petroleum said on Thursday it had accepted the letter of award from Dayang for the five-year charter of five work barges and one workboat. The contract starts in July.
“The
vessels charter relates to the contract for the provision of hook-up,
commissioning and topside maintenance services awarded by Sarawak Shell Berhad/Sabah Shell Petroleum Company Ltd
to Dayang Enterprise. The estimated contract value for the vessels
charter is estimated at RM705mil,” it said. Perdana Petroleum said as
Dayang Enterprise is a major shareholder of the company, the vessels
charter was deemed a recurrent related party transaction (RRPT).
“The
above RRPT will be carried out on arm's length basis and on normal
commercial terms which are not more favourable to the related party,” it
said.
