PETALING JAYA, July 11 (Bernama) -- Honda Malaysia aims to sell 500 units of its newly-launched CKD Honda Jazz Petrol a month, said managing director/chief executive officer, Yoichiro Ueno.
Ueno said this was based on the current demand from customers, especially its target market, including fresh graduates and young executives.
"This is the first completely knocked-down (CKD) car in Honda Malaysia's history that is below RM75,000.
"The price is RM74,800, on-the-road, with insurance.
"The monthly payment is as low as RM755, based on the projected 90 per cent loan payable over nine years," he told reporters after the launch of the car here today.
He said the production of the CKD Honda Jazz Petrol was in line with Honda's global direction of increasing cost competitiveness to provide high brand value products at affordable prices.
Ueno said Honda was confident the new model would drive its earlier sales target of 64,000 units this year.
"With the support from our new research and development centre, we will increase our local contents across all line-up.
"With 64 Honda dealerships located in major cities and towns we are confident the higher sales and increased customers would also be well supported by our growing network of 3S (sales, service and spare parts) and 4S centres," he said.
The CKD Honda Jazz Petrol comes in four colours -- Taffeta White, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Sparkling Brown Metallic and Crystal Black Peark.
