KLCI futures close higher despite mixed cash market

KUALA LUMPUR (July 16): The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher today despite the mixed cash market, dealers said.
Spot month July 2013 gained 3.5 points to 1,788.
September 2013, August 2013 and December 2013 rose 2.5 points each to 1,788.5, 1,787.5 and 1,789.5 respectively.
Turnover rose to 4,899 lots from 2,735 lots on Monday, while open interest increased to 40,055 contracts from 37,705 contracts yesterday.
The underlying FBM KLCI ended 0.28 point lower at 1,786.39.
