Malaysia's central bank governor acclaimed as global game changer
KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz is recognised as one of the Global Financial Game Changers of the Year 2013 by CBN, a leading business media group in China.
This was announced at the “2013 CBN Annual Meeting and Finance Summit” held in Beijing on Sunday, CBN said in a statement yesterday.
Zeti has been the central bank governor since May 2000.
US Federal Reserve vice-chairman Janet Yellen, Bank of England governor Mark Carney, Bank of Japan governor Haruhiko Kuroda, Reserve Bank of India governor Raghuram Rajan and People’s Bank of China governor Zhou Xiao Chuan are also recognised as game changers.
Others include Liu He, director of the office of the central leading group on financial and economic affairs and deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission (China); China Securities Regulatory Commission chairman Xiao Gang, Ping An Insurance group chairman and chief executive officer Ma Mingzhe and Hong Kong Stock Exchange chief executive Charles Li Xiaojia. – Bernama
