KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 11): The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives, closed higher today, tracking the underlying cash market performance.

Phillip Futures Sdn Bhd dealer, Tan Sek Wei, said the index futures rose today, as most investors are waiting for the new US Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen's first testimony, to be released later tonight. 

"Investors will look for hints on the pace of tapering, given the recent uncertainty in emerging markets and the weak January US payroll," he told Bernama, today.

Spot month February 2014 rose 4.5 points to 1,820 points, March 2014 gained four points to 1,819.5, June 2014 rose 6.5 points to 1,817 points, and September 2014 added six points to 1,815.5 points.

Turnover dipped to 5,197 lots, from Monday's 5,301 lots, while open interest widened to 41,872 contracts, from 35,812 contracts yesterday.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) finished 8.03 points higher, at 1,824.17.
