KUALA LUMPUR (June 20): TA Securities Holdings Bhd expects the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) to touch 1,925 points by year-end driven by high liquidity.

Speaking to reporters after TA Enterprise's annual general meeting here today, Head of Research Kaladher Govindan said he was optimistic of the local market this year, given its defensive nature.

He noted that for the last couple of months, the market was seeing
an increased participation by foreign players due to several favourable external economic developments.

"One reason is that the European Central Bank has indicated starting its own quantitative easing.

"Another good news is that the US Federal reserve is going to prolong the current low interest rates for some time, probably throughout this year. I believe there could still be another uptrend this year," he said.
