KUALA LUMPUR (July 15): Malaysia's consumer price index in June rose 2.5 percent from a year earlier on higher food prices, data from the [size=14]Statistics Department showed on Wednesday. Transport prices also saw an increase from a month ago.
June's inflation rate was slightly above economists' median estimate of 2.4 percent in a Reuters poll.
Inflation has gradually accelerated since a six percent consumption tax went into effect in April.
