KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 11): theedgemarkets.com highlighted five stocks with momentum at Bursa Malaysia’s afternoon market close today. It showed three stocks with positive momentum while two with negative momentum.

The stocks with positive momentum are:

Tex Cycle Technology (M) Bhd ([You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Valuation: 0.80, Fundamental: 2.25) fell 0.5 sen or 0.63% at 79 sen after 757,700 shares changing hands.

Key Asic Bhd ([You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Valuation: 0.00, Fundamental: 1.55) down 0.5 sen or 2.13% at 23 sen, with 4.39 million shares done.

Ge-Shen Corp Bhd ([You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Financial Dashboard) gained 11 sen or 13.58% to 92 sen, trading volume was 2.82 million.

The stocks with negative momentum are:

Caring Pharmacy Group Bhd ([You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Valuation: N/A, Fundamental: N/A) was unchanged at RM1.79, after some 390,600 shares traded.

V.S Industry Bhd also unchanged at RM1.35, with some 3.32 million shares changing hands.

The list of stocks with momentum is generated using a proprietary mathematical algorithm highlighting stocks with a build-up in trading volume and price. The algorithm differentiates between stocks that exhibit positive (+ve) momentum and negative (-ve) momentum.

This list is not a buy or sell recommendation. It merely tells you which stocks are seeing higher than normal volume and price movements. The share price may move up or down from this point. But the “+ve” (suggesting a rising price trend on volume) and “-ve” (suggesting a falling price trend on volume) indicators should give readers a better idea of what the market is buying and when to sell. Note also that momentum generally only persists for a short period of time.
(Note: The Edge Research's fundamental score reflects a company’s profitability and balance sheet strength, calculated based on historical numbers. The valuation score determines if a stock is attractively valued or not, also based on historical numbers. A score of 3 suggests strong fundamentals and attractive valuations.)
