Ikhmas Jaya up 3.01% after landing RM166.4m apartment job

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 5): Shares of Ikhmas Jaya Group Bhd ([You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Valuation: N/A, Fundamental: N/A) rose 3.01% in early trade today after its unit Ikhmas Jaya Sdn Bhd secured a RM166.4 million contract for the construction of serviced apartments at Jalan Talalla, Kuala Lumpur.
At 9.16am, Ikhmas Jaya rose 2 sen to 68.5 sen with 816,300 shares done.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the group said it has accepted the terms and conditions stipulated in the letter of award from Star Effort Sdn Bhd for the development of two blocks of suite serviced apartments (357 units) forMessrs Star Effort Sdn Bhd.
The contract is expected to commence on Jan 2, 2016 for about two and half years (29 months) and is slated for completion by June 1, 2018.
Ikhmas Jaya said the contract is expected to contribute positively to the group's earnings and net assets for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2016.
