Magna Prima Q2 pre-tax profit surges

Magna Prima Bhd's pre-tax profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2011 jumped to RM6.2 million from RM2.2 million
in the same quarter last year.

However, revenue fell to RM27.4 million from RM30.7 million previously, Magna Prima said in a statement today.

It said the better pre-tax profit was due to the better margin from the One Sierra project and savings from other operating and administrative expenses.

Executive director, Datuk Rahadian Mahmud, said the company recorded sales in excess of RM400 million from various projects.

"We foresee our cash flow position to be further enhanced by progress payments from the sales of developments launched this year, which have yet to billed," he said. -- Bernama
