Mudajaya clinches RM720m contract

KUALA LUMPUR: Mudajaya Corp Bhd has clinched a RM720 million contract for the design and civil works for part of the Manjung power plant.
It said on Monday, Aug 22 its unit had signed a subcontract with CMC Machipex Sdn Bhd for the detailed design and CONSTRUCTION [] of all civil works associated with the balance of plant component of Manjung No. 4 power plant project.
The contract also involved only the civil works for the power island on a re-measured bills of quantity basis.
“The project has commenced works on June 6, 2011 and is expected to be substantially completed by November 2013,” Mudajaya said, adding it expected the project to o contribute positively towards the earnings and net assets of the group for the current and future financial years.
