Uzma unit wins 'umbrella contract'

Uzma Bhd's wholly owned unit, Uzma Engineering Sdn Bhd, has been awarded a contract for the provision of marine 2D and 3D seismic data acquisition services known as the 'Umbrella Contract'.
Uzma said the contract was awarded by Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd, effective from Aug 18 and should continue for a primary period of three years with an extension option of two years.
It added the contract, however, does not constitute a commitment for any specific work.
"The contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets per share of the group for the financial year ending Dec 31 and future years," Uzma said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today. -- Bernama
