AirAsia will have access to The Star content
PETALING JAYA: Star Publications (M) Bhd and AirAsia Bhd
will collaborate in a project that will enable AirAsia to have access
to The Star's content for distribution via various channels in the near
future.
Via the agreement, AirAsia will have access to The Star's
content for distribution through their channels including in-flight
entertainment, online, offline, Tune properties and more.
The
initial collaboration was formalised via a letter of intent signed on
behalf of Star by the company's executive deputy chairman Datuk Vincent Lee while group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes signed on behalf of AirAsia today.
Star Publications group managing director Ho Kay Tat
said Star Publications produced quality content on a daily basis and
this cut across all the platforms and channels it currently offer. “With
this collaboration, the content we offer is able to reach new audiences
and enrich the end user experience for our strategic partners.
“This initial collaboration only touches the surface of the opportunities both companies have with this partnership.
“From
a medium to long-term perspective, we would be looking at a fresh
perspective on traditional collaboration models that moves beyond
information exchange to a more strategic alliance for long-term growth,”
he said in a statement.
Tony said he was happy to have Star as a partner.
“Our
10 years of experience and expertise in democratising travel and Star's
strength as a major media company with a strong content distribution is
an ideal partnership.
“Through this partnership, AirAsia's guests will now have access to quality contents produced by Star Publications.” he said.
