Life insurance body names top officials

The Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) has appointed Vincent
Kwo Shih Kang and Khor Hock Seng as its new president and vice-president
respectively, with effect from Jan 1, 2012.
Kwo is the chief
executive officer of Uni.Asia Life Assurance Bhd and a qualified actuary
with more than 28 years' experience in the insurance industry, LIAM
said in a statement.
"Within the insurance industry, Kwo is the
president of the Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC) and is a
member of the Board of Malaysian Life Re," it said.
Khor, chief
executive officer and managing director of American International
Assurance Bhd, is also chairman and director of AIA Takaful
International Bhd and sits on the Board of Malaysian Life Re.
"As
their illustrious careers and commitment to the sector have proven, we
believe they will forge a formidable leadership that will help shape and
spearhead the future development of the life insurance industry," LIAM
