KL stocks mixed at midday
Share prices on Bursa Malaysia maintained the mixed trend at midday
today with the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) gaining
4.65 points to 1,574.30, helped by gains in heavyweights, dealers said.
A
dealer said sentiment remained cautious on news that Federal Reserve
Chairman Ben Bernanke was not planning any further monetary easing to
stimulate the US economy and this dampened investor sentiment on global
markets.
The Finance Index rose 27.67 points to 14,045.02
and the Industrial Index gained 28.42 points to 2,914.65, while the
Plantation Index decreased 16.21 points to 8,635.56.
The FBM
Emas Index improved 24.67 points to 10,887.42, the FBM 70 Index
increased 12.17 points to 12,283.22 and the FBM ACE Index declined 44.54
points to 4,666.48.
Losers led gainers 411 to 269 while 315 counters were unchanged, 500
untraded and 17 others suspended. Turnover stood at 853.1 million
shares worth RM924.8 million.
For the actives, Naim Indah
Corporation gained two sen to 50.5 sen, R&A Telecommunication GRP
was unchanged at 12 sen, China Stationery slipped 18 sen to RM1.20 and
IFCA MSC was one sen lower at 12.5 sen.
Among heavyweights,
Maybank rose one sen to RM8.76, Sime Darby increased 20 sen to RM9.89,
Petronas Chemicals gained three sen to RM6.73 and CIMB gained one sen to
