UMW awarded US$105m job extension

UMW Holdings Bhd, through its subsidiary UMW Standard Drilling Sdn Bhd, has received a letter from Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd for a two-year extension of the provision of a jack-up drilling rig NAGA 3 contract worth US$105 million (US$1 = RM3.10).
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, UMW said the commencement date for the contract extension shall be March 22, 2012 and shall be valid until March 21, 2014, both dates inclusive.
"The contract extension is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of UMW for the financial years from 2012 to 2014," the company said. -- Bernama
