Globetronics Q1 pre-tax profit falls to RM7.4m

Globetronics Technology Bhd's pre-tax profit for the first quarter ended March 31, 2012 fell to RM7.4 million from RM7.5 million in the same quarter of 2011.
Revenue decreased to RM56.8 million from RM67.1 million previously.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, Globetronics said revenue by segment for the quarter saw China dropping the most by 92.7 per cent, followed by Singapore's 16.1 per cent.
Globetronics said it was optimistic of performing satisfactorily in financial year 2012.
"The group will continue to step up efforts to improve the efficiency and cost-reduction measures in its operations to achieve the necessary competitive edge in the market," it said. -- Bernama
