only worry is during listing day if mkt sentiment no good might trigger sell down

FBM KLCI closes firmly higher

KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI closed firmly higher on Wednesday, June 15, lifted by gains including at at Petronas Gas, Tenaga, MISC and telecommunication stocks.

Gains at the regional markets, meanwhile, were limited as China’s central bank raising its reserve requirement ratio late Tuesday and Standard & Poor’s lowering its outlook for China’s property sector to negative dampened investor sentiment.

European markets also opened lower as Moody's placed French banks Credit Agricole, BNP Paribas and Societe Generale on review for a possible downgrade, focusing on their holdings of Greek public and private debt, according to Reuters.

The FBM KLCI rose 7.68 points to 1,556.19 at 5pm. Gainers led losers by 421 to 329, while 311 counters traded unchanged. Volume was 888.69 million shares valued at RM1.60 billion.

At the regional markets, Japan’s Nikkei 225 gained 0.28% to 9,574.32, South Korea’s Kospi was up 0.47% to 2,086.53 and Taiwan’s Taiex edged up 0.03% to 8,831.45.

Meanwhile, the Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.90% to 2,705.43, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index fell 0.68% to 22,343.77 and Singapore’s Straits Times Index shed 0.08% to 3,054.82.

On Bursa Malaysia, Petronas Gas jumped 38 sen to RM12.50, Tenaga 17 sen to RM6.77, Petronas Chemicals 12 sen to RM7.18, MISC nine sen to RM7.20, Maxis eight sen to RM5.52, DiGi six sen to RM28.72 and Axiata four sen to RM4.93.

Other gainers included Esso that rose 37 sen to RM5.40, BLD PLANTATION []s 28 sen to RM7.08, Aeon Credit 26 sen to RM5.16, Nestle and Paramount 20 sen each to RM48.20 and RM5.99, Aeon 19 sen to RM7.20, while Dutch Lady, Tradewinds and Malpac added 18 sen each to RM18.38, RM10.68 and RM1.63 respectively.

Focus was the most actively traded counter with 40.99 million shares done. The stock fell half a sen to 5.5 sen.

Other actives included Systech, Axiata, MAA, Tenaga, KUB and Key West.

Among the decliners, Sunway City fell 21 sen to RM5.31, Mintye 18 sen to RM1.32, F&N and BAT fell 16 sen each to RM19.44 and RM45.94, MSC 15 sen to RM4.59, Lysaght and GAB 10 sen each to RM1.70 and RM10.50, while NSOP fell eight sen to RM5.40.
