KUALA LUMPUR (July 12): The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended higher in sync with the firmer cash market, dealers said.

Phillip Futures Sdn Bhd dealer Liam Kian Yap said trading was cautious, ahead of China's quarterly Gross Domestic Product figures which is expected to be announced on
Monday.

Both July 2013 and August 2013 rose 1.5 points each to 1,789.5 and 1,790 respectively, while September 2013 and December 2013 added 2.5 points each to 1,788 and 1,791 respectively.

Turnover fell sharply to 3,735 lots from 9,656 lots yesterday, while open interest totalled 38,813 contracts versus Thursday's 42,736 contracts.

The underlying FBM KLCI ended 4.5 points at 1,785.65.
