KUALA LUMPUR (July 18): The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher in tandem with the record close on the underlying cash market, dealers said.

Spot month July 2013 added 4.5 points to 1,793 and December 2013 rose 1.5 points to 1,794.

Both August 2013 and September 2013 increased four points each to 1,794 and 1,791.5, respectively.

Turnover improved to 3,535 lots from 3,409 lots on Wednesday, while open interest increased to 39,641 contracts versus yesterday's 39,094 contracts.

The underlying FBM KLCI ended 2.28 points better at 1,791.54.
