FCW shares and warrants down after Bursa UMA query

KUALA LUMPUR: Shares and warrants of FCW Holdings Bhd fell after Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd issued an “Unusual Market Activity” query on its stock, which hit limit-up on Tuesday.

At 10.28am, it fell eight sen to RM1.14 with 630,500 shares done between RM1.05 and RM1.27 while its warrants fell three sen to 9.5 sen and saw 12.22 million units done between eight sen and 12.5 sen.

The FBM KLCI fell 3.05 points to 1,771.89. Turnover was 509.16 million valued at RM242.824mil. There were 228 gainers, 201 decliners while 243 counters were unchanged.

At 2.53pm on Tuesday, FCW’s shares surged 30 sen to RM1.11 with 393,600 shares done while its warrants jumped 30 sen to 68 sen with 57,700 units done.

Securities of FCW is controlled by the low-key Tan Sri Tan Sri Robert Tan Hua Choon, who was appointed as director and chairman on Jan 26, 1999 and Feb 16, 2000 respectively.

The self-made businessman is involved in a wide range of businesses which include manufacturing, marketing, banking, shipping, property development and trading.

He is the chairman of Jasa Kita Bhd, GPA Holdings Bhd, Keladi Maju Bhd, Malaysia Aica Bhd, Marco Holdings Bhd and PDZ Holdings Bhd. He joined the board of Goh Ban Huat Bhd on July 8, 2008 as non-independent non-executive director.
