The recovering of U.S. economy boost the dollars, however, glove counter and aviation counter perform differently with the strengthen of dollars, aviation industry will be the loser while glove stocks are winners. Glove traded in U.S. dollars in the export thus benefit while dollars strengthening but Aviation company have to buy fuel using U.S. dollars, burdening in the operating costs.
Airasia

Airaisa has fallen from its peak of RM3.50 to the recent low of RM2.20, due to the appreciation of U.S. dollar making the fuel cost increases. Airasia has submitted 3 quarter of weak financial results, which further prove the effect.
From its chart, technical rebound is seen, with average volume, this is because Airasia has reach its support and the price is low enough to accumulate, though, the fundamental of Airasia wouldn’t affect too much by the dollars and stabilize of oil price and 2014 Malaysia tourism year impact positively on this company.
Supermax

The exports of rubber gloves are traded in U.S. dollars, making Supermax become one of the beneficial when the U.S. dollar skyrocketed. Compared to its peers, Supermax still didn’t perform as strong as it should be, at 3 January, at full bullish candle accompany with exceptional high volume can be seen, which is a sign of early bull.

A hammer shown at the last day of 2013 amid the falling trend, although this is not a perfect hammer but that’s enough to stop the bear. Confirmation of the hammer appears on 3 January, with a long full green candle, the whole early reversal is intact, and we remain positive to this company, and look forward for its January rally, refer “The last war- January effect 2014“.

Success continue to rush north after it breakout from the rectangle rally, with every push accompany with volume. Another wave pushed the price over RM1.40 which prepared it to march toward Rm2.

| Monday, 06 January 2014 12:42 KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 6): The FBM KLCI slipped at the midday break on Monday, in line with the dip at most regional markets following slower than expected services sector growth in China. At 1.30pm, the FBM KLCI shed 0.17 points, led by losses at Petronas-linked stocks. Gainers led losers by 404 to 269, while 272 counters traded unchanged. Volume was 1.02 billion shares valued at RM827.75 million. The top losers included Lysaght, Petronas Gas, Petronas Dagangan, United Plantatons, PPB, KLCC, Carlsberg, HLFG and Batu Kawan. Hubline was the most actively traded counter with 150.42 million shares done. The stock added half a sen to 6.5 sen. The other actives included Ingenco, Daya Materials, Iris Corp, MBSB, Sumatec, TMS and TDEX. The gainers included Ecoworld, DKSH, MMC Corp, MKH, Uzma, Allianz, Yinson and My E.G. Hong Leong IB Research said in the wake of the weakening daily and weekly charts, KLCI is likely to extend its healthy consolidation early this week before overbought momentum is fully neutralized, reflected by the gradual oversold hourly chart. “Key resistances are 1,860-1,880 whilst supports fall on 1,820-1,830. “Given extended consolidation in mid to bigcaps, investors may switch to bargain lower liners and small caps, as trading momentum on these segments seems to be improving last week,” it said. Elsewhere, Asian shares fell to a two-week low on Monday after growth in China's services sector slowed sharply last month, raising concerns about the pace of recovery in the world's second-largest economy, while safe-haven gold climbed, according to Reuters. The dollar hovered near a four-week high, supported by an upbeat outlook for the U.S. economy from Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke that fanned expectations of faster stimulus reduction by the U.S. central bank, it said. |
