over all TM generally is a laggy counter, however with this catalyst and the move we seen yesterday we might see it moving again today ; there are only two bb's left and they are ITM with long expirary, choose wisely when entering for it might effect premium valuation

cheaper TM C1 would be a good one, however i doubt MM will open a proper bid spread if you see CZ queue

KUALA LUMPUR (March 7): The FBM KLCI dipped in early trade on Friday following some mild profit taking on select blue chips, including Tenaga despite the more positive sentiment at most regional markets.

The FBM KLCI shed 2.74 points to 1,835.95 at 9.10am.

Gainers led losers by 117 to 89, while 168 counters traded unchanged. Volume was 119.01 million shares valued at RM61.25 million.

The top losers included Bat, United Plantations, Tenaga, Hup Seng, Kossan, Prestariang, Kwantas, Sarawak Cable and Parkson.

Hong Leong IB Research in a market preview Friday said following yesterday’s strong performance and an overnight gain on Dow, a decisive breakout above our key envisaged 1,840 resistance today would open up upside possibilities of a new leg towards 1,850 and 1,857 (76.4% FR) in the short term.

“Immediate supports are 1,830 (10-day moving average) and 1,823 (50-day moving average),” it said.

Elsewhere, Asian stocks edged up and the dollar index slumped on Friday, as investors looked toward the U.S. nonfarm payrolls report later in the session for confirmation that the U.S. employment picture has improved, according to Reuters.

The euro remained near its overnight highs after the European Central Bank held steady as expected and said conditions in the euro zone do not yet warrant any change in policy, it said.

KUALA LUMPUR (March 7): The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives opened higher today on positive outlook for the cash market.

At 9:14 am, March 2014 added 4.5 points to 1,838.5, April 2014 gained 2.5 points to 1,838 and June 2014 rose three points to 1,835.

September 2014 was untraded and remained pegged at yesterday's close of 1,830.

Turnover amounted to 687 lots while open interest totalled 30,768 contracts.

The benchmark FBM KLCI was 2.98 points lower at 1,835.71 after 14 minutes of trading.

KUALA LUMPUR (March 7): The FBM KLCI remained in negative territory at the midday break on Friday, despite the positive sentiment at most regional markets, as the local index fell on some mild profit taking after the firm rally a day earlier.

At 12.30pm, the FBM KLCI lost 0.29% or 5.27 points to 1,833.42, weighed by losses  in select blue chips including at Tenaga and Telekom.

Gainers led losers by 353 to 328, while 301 counters traded unchanged. Volume was 830.91 million shares valued at RM800.5 million.

The top losers in the morning session included BAT, Tan Chong, APM Automotive, Knusford, Tenaga, MISC, Chin Teck, Brahims, Telekom and Asia File.

Iris Corp was the most actively traded counter with 39.94 million shares done. The stock rose half a sen to 59.5 sen.

The other actives included Luster, EA Holdings, XDL, HHH Corp, Instaco and Scomi.

The gainers included Lafarge Malaysia, Golsta, Keck Seng, Carlsberg, Quality Concrete, Hong Leong Capital, Cahya Mata Sarawak, Oriental, Dutch Lady and Sarawak Plantation.

Maybank IB head of retail research and chief chartist Lee Cheng Hooi in a note to clients Friday said the FBM KLCI advanced 9.58 points to close at 1,838.69 yesterday, while the FBMEMAS and FBM100 also closed higher by 78.89 points and 72.41 points, respectively.

“We expect a firm tone for the local index before the weekend due to the US markets’ strong main board performance overnight,” he said.

Elsewhere, Asian stocks rose on Friday, buoyed by Wall Street's gains the previous day, but investors remained cautious ahead of the U.S. nonfarm payrolls report later in the session, according to Reuters.

The euro remained near overnight highs following the European Central Bank's decision not to ease policy, while the safe-haven yen continued to sag after suffering sharp losses as risk appetite returned, it said.
