SINCE Connect was first picked by our algorithm on Monday, the stock peaked at 20.5 sen the next day before retracing part of its gains to close at 19.5 sen yesterday.
On Tuesday, the company announced that it has entered a Heads of Agreement to acquire Kejuruteraan Asastera Sdn Bhd (KASB) for RM25 million — 50% in cash and the remainder by issuance of Connect shares.
The company intends to fund the cash portion of the purchase consideration through borrowings and/or fund raising via issuance of new securities. KASB would also provide a profit guarantee wherein the profit after taxation shall be at least RM4 million for 2015 and 2016.
Connect has a low Fundamental and Valuation scores of 0.95/3 and 0/3 respectively. The company was in a net cash position of RM2.66 million at as 30 September 2014 and is currently trading at 2.72 times book. No dividends were paid for the past four years.
