E&O posts higher H1 pre-tax profit

Eastern & Oriental Bhd (E&O) has posted a higher pre-tax profit of RM88.892 million for the first six-months of its financial year ending March 31, 2012 compared to RM22.711 million in the previous corresponding period.
Revenue for the period also rose to RM158.482 million from RM112.124 million.
In a statement today, the company said that for the second quarter ended Sept 30, 2011, its pre-tax profit rose to RM18.202 million from RM5.150 million while revenue for the three-month period rose to RM82.599 million from RM65.814 million. -- Bernama
