AirAsia X Beijing flight gets good response (4219)
AirAsia X, the long-haul and low fare affiliate of the AirAsia Group
recorded 90 per cent passenger load both on the outbound trip to
Beijing and return flight to Kuala Lumpur.
In a statement today,
the airline said it was an encouraging sign for the company which has
shifted its operations from Tianjin to Beijing.
The airline
said from August 6 onwards, it would also be increasing the number of
flights from four times a week to daily services from its hub in Kuala
Lumpur to Beijing Capital International Airport.
AirAsia X is
also currently offering special launch fares to Beijing from Kuala
Lumpur from as low as RM349 one way on Economy and from RM1,149 one way
on its Premium Flatbeds.
The launch fares are available for online bookings from June 25 to 28, for the travel period between Aug 6 and Nov 30.
AirAsia
X Chief Executive Officer Azran Osman-Rani said the additional flight
frequencies would encourage a strong growth trajectory of new segments
of travellers between Malaysia and Southeast Asia to Beijing and its
surrounding region and vice versa.
"Our entry into Beijing will
indeed grow economic ties between Malaysia and China, particularly in
tourism and trade, and enhance people to people exchange between the
two countries," he said. -- Bernama
