TA Enterprise posts lower Q1 profits (4898)

TA Enterprise Bhd posted a lower pre-tax profit of RM31.5 million for
the first quarter ended April 30, 2012 compared with RM55.3 million
chalked up in the corresponding quarter last year.
However, revenue rose to RM176.2 million from RM174.7 million.
In
a filing to Bursa Malaysia, TA Enterprise said while TA Global
registered higher revenue mainly from its hotel, credit and lending
operations, other segments of the group recorded a decline in pre-tax
profits.
On prospects, TA Enterprise said the global economic
growth remained slow since the start of the year and the ongoing
Eurozone crisis may further deteriorate the global economic outlook for
the year.
The group expects to perform satisfactorily for the year, barring, any additional global economic developments. Bernama
