HSL wins RM291m UiTM campus contract (6238)
KUALA LUMPUR: Hock Seng Lee Bhd (HSL), a marine engineering,
civil engineering and building construction company, has won a RM291
million contract to design and build an educational institution in
Mukah, Sarawak.
The job, located within the Sarawak Corridor
of Renewable Energy, will bring the value of the company's projects in
hand to RM2 billion.
The contract, done for Concessionaire KP Mukah Development Sdn Bhd, is for the Universiti Teknologi Mara campus facility.
The work, which will include sand filling, piling, civil infrastructure
works, specialist campus buildings and mechanical and electrical works,
is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2015.
"With the size of the work and our familiarity with
site conditions and logistics in Mukah, we expect this project to
contribute positively to the earnings of the group for this year right
through to 2015," managing director Datuk Paul Yu Chee Hoe said.
The proposed campus, covering 24.9ha, will include themed walkways and five blocks of five-storey apartments.
The new project brings the total value of new contracts secured by HSL
in 2012 to RM472 million. While the value of its projects in hand is
RM2.07 billion, some RM1.3 billion is outstanding.
