Cycle & Carriage Q2 pre-tax profit down (2925)

KUALA LUMPUR: Cycle & Carriage Bintang Bhd’s pre-tax profit for the second quarter ended June 30 2012, declined to RM5.411 million, compared to the RM7.369 million recorded in the same period last year.

Revenue eased to RM173.741 million from the RM178.627 million recorded previously, the company said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

Cycle & Carriage said trading conditions for the group were challenging due to the intense competition in the luxury car segment.

However,the group’s sound balance sheet and strong underlying business, positions it well to meet the competitive challenges, it added.
