MAHB Q2 earnings up 10.5% to RM100m (5014)
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) reported net earnings of RM100.69mil in the second quarter ended June 30, 2012 from RM90.99mil a year ago.
However, it said the consolidated profit before tax and zakat (PBT) dipped 1.3% to RM141.43mil from RM143.33mil a year ago.
"Included
in PBT was RM13.4mil profit from construction of klia2 and Penang
International Airport 56.5% or RM4.8mil higher as compared to the same
period in the previous year of RM8.5mil," it said.
MAHB said excluding the construction profit, PBT decreased by 5% or RM6.7mil due to higher cost.
"Total
cost increased by 26.8% or RM146.2mil due to the increase in staff
cost, depreciation and amortisation, repair and maintenance and
utilities. Higher staff costs are mainly due to annual increments,
additional recruitment and the salary adjustments," it said.
Its
revenue rose 21.9% to RM807.81mil from RM662.69mil. Earnings per share
were 8.32 sen compared with 8.28 sen. For the first half, the earnings
rose 8.6% to RM203.42mil from RM187.19mil in the previous corresponding
period. Revenue increased by 14.4% to RM1.465bil from RM1.280bil.
