Eversendai posts RM32.3m Q2 profit (5205)

Eversendai Corp Bhd today reported a sustainable revenue and profit after tax of RM257.7 million and RM32.3 million
for its second quarter results for the period ended June 30,2012, respectively.

Last
year its accounted revenue and profit after tax for three months ended
June 30, 2011 was RM258.15 million and RM40.84 million, respectively.

For
the period ended June 30, 2012, the group's revenue and profit after
tax stood at RM506.66 million and RM62.07 million, respectively, as
compared to RM466.00 million and RM66.32 million, respectively, for the
period ended June 30, 2011.

"The increase in revenue of 8.73
per cent is mainly due to increase in projects undertaken in Malaysia
and India while the slight fall in profit after tax is due to
unrealised foreign exchange translation losses," it said in a statement.

The company's current order book stands at RM1.7 billion as of June 30, 2012.

Forty-one
per cent of the projects were based on structural steel segment
followed by 34 per cent from power plant and 25 per cent from civil
