KLCI extends losses, PetDag, KLK down

KUALA LUMPUR: Blue chips extended their losses in late morning on
Wednesday, with the FBM KLCI below the key 1,650 level, dragged by
losses in Petronas Dagangan and KL Kepong.
At
10.40am, the KLCI was down 4.69 points to 1,649.42. Turnover was 467.98
million shares valued at RM287.53mil. There were 110 gainers, 365
losers and 262 counters unchanged.
At Bursa Malaysia, Dutch Lady
fell 44 sen to RM42.56 with 200 shares done, PetDag was down 24 sen to
RM22.06 while KLK and UMW lost 12 sen each to RM23.34 and RM10.14 while
HL Bank eased 10 sen to RM13.40.
JCY
fell 11.5 sen to 92.5 sen with 48 million shares done. The trading
volume by the hard-disk drive maker was about 10% of total trades on
Bursa.
Bloomberg reported Asian stocks fell for a fifth day and
gold declined as worse-than-expected Australian economic data added to
signs the global economy is struggling to grow.
Chinese stocks
fell, dragging the benchmark index to the lowest level since February
2009, on concern the economic slowdown is deepening, it said.
