KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia-Indonesia bilateral trade is expected to be
strong in the second half of 2012 as Indonesia's gross domestic product
(GDP) growth will be robust at 6%, driven by domestic demand.
Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) chief executive officer Dr Wong Lai Sum
said Indonesia, the largest economy in Southeast Asia, offered vast
opportunities for business and trade at the FMM Conference on Indonesia.
She said on Thursday the vibrant sectors included construction, infrastructure development, ICT, and services.
"Companies
must do their due diligence when seeking for right business partners,"
she said, adding businesses should adapt to the market in order to
compete effectively there.
