Panasonic Kulim solar plant up by 2013
The output of Panasonic Malaysia Sdn Bhd's solar manufacturing plant in
Kulim will initially focus on the export market, mainly catering to
Japan, said Managing Director Jeff Lee.
"We had a groundbreaking ceremony in March and the plant is expected to be up and running sometime next year.
"The
initial completion target is December this year, however, due to
unforeseen circumstances, the plan is delayed," he told reporters at
the Panasonic Kid Witness News 2012 National Contest and Awards
Ceremony today.
The Kid Witness News, organised by Panasonic,
is a hands-on video education programme designed for school children to
develop creativity and communication skills through the use of video,
whereby they create videos under the supervision of their teachers
using equipment provided by the company.
This year's edition
saw the participation of 56 schools from 14 states, and dealt with a
variety of issues within the two themes of the contest -- ecology and
communication.
