MAS offers special fares, holiday deals on 66 routes (3786)

NATIONAL carrier Malaysia Airlines (MAS) is offering promotional airfares and holiday packages on 66 of its domestic and international routes, including travel on its Airbus 380.

The international travel fare discounts range between seven per cent and 37 per cent for economy class, and five per cent and 48 per cent for business class.

Meanwhile, the domestic sector travel offers are discounted between three per cent and 28 per cent for economy class, and nine and 42 per cent for business class.

MAS regional senior vice-president Malaysia and Asean region, Muzammil Mohamad, said the offers are exceptionally attractive for consumers to plan their holidays or business trips and make their purchases now, as such value deals are not always on offer.

"Planning and purchasing in advance will certainly benefit customers who are already considering their next vacation trips in the forthcoming year-end school holiday breaks and also festive occasions like Christmas this year and Chinese New Year in 2013," he said in a press release.

MAS' all-inclusive return economic domestic class fares start from RM268 to RM298 within Peninsular Malaysia, RM368 to RM558 between the Peninsula and East Malaysia, and a flat rate of RM268 for travel within East Malaysia.

Meanwhile, business class return domestic fares are offered at a flat rate of RM758 for flights within Peninsular Malaysia and within East Malaysia, and between RM1,558 and RM2,258 for between East Malaysia and West Malaysia.

On the other hand, the international all-inclusive return travel economy fares range from RM359 from Kuala Lumpur to Medan, RM509 to Bangkok and RM859 to Manila.

The South Asian destination fares range from RM1,119 to Colombo, RM1,156 to Chennai, RM1,599 to Mumbai and RM1,639 to Bengaluru.

Equally attractive fares are also available to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane as well as destinations in China, Japan, South Korea, Taipei and Europe.

Meanwhile, an exclusive feature of the offer is special fares for travel on MAS' A380 services. The all-inclusive economy-class fare for travel from KL to London starts at RM3,399, RM2,379 to Sydney (A380 flights commencing by the end of November this year), and fares to Tokyo which starts from as low as RM1,909 (A380 flights commencing by the end of November this year).

All purchases, which began yesterday, can be made until September 14 2012. Meanwhile, the offers are valid for travel from September 9 2012 till March 31 2013, except certain peak periods.

In addition, Malaysia Airlines is also offering 55 irresistible holiday packages through its MASholidays brand.

The packages include 17 for holi-days at domestic destinations and 11 each for Asean destinations and China/Orient locations.

The Asean package price per person on share-twin basis starts from RM599 for a three days/ two nights holiday in Medan and RM945 for a similar holiday in Denpasar.

MASholidays also offers a Muslim package at RM1,785 for a four days/ three nights holiday in Beijing on share-twin basis, whilst the Tokyo Disneyland four days/ three nights package starts from RM2,533.

Customers may also select six packages to Europe, eight packages to South Asia, including the newly opened destination Kathmandu, and 12 to Australia and New Zealand.

These packages are offered at MASholidays Matta Fair booths 1,288-1,297 at Hall 1 in PWTC, Kuala Lumpur, as well as through Malaysia Airlines ticket offices throughout Malaysia.
