Affordable housing to drive construction, says CIDB

KUALA LUMPUR: Affordable housing will drive construction activities
in the property sector while demand for high-end properties is expected
to "taper off", says the Construction Industry Development Board
Malaysia (CIDB).
CIDB's CEO Datuk Seri Judin Abdul Karim
said on Monday affordable housing will be in focus and that there were
expectations of more measures to deal with this matter by the
government soon.
"High-end property demand will taper off while
affordability will be a factor because there is the issue of property
prices being out of reach of people today," he said at the launch of
the CIDB regional construction week.
