Tenaga targets RM5b revenue by 2015 (5347)
Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) aims to increase its revenue from non-regulated businesses to RM5 billion by 2015 from
about RM1.8 billion a year now.
Its
president/chief executive officer, Datuk Azman Mohd, said a new
division would be set up to take advantage of the non-regulated
businesses, such as operations and maintenance of power plants and
power generation.
"We are also venturing into other countries," he said at the company's Hari Raya Open House here today.
Azman said TNB would adopt the Incentive-Based Regulation from 2014, which was based on efficiency.
"What this means for consumers is that, they will get a fair deal, value for money based on TNB's efficiency," he said.
In terms of gas pricing in Malaysia, he said, there would be clarity in the next few months.
On compensation, he said, it would be decided by the economic council.
It was reported that TNB wanted full compensation with regards to the fuel-cost pass through mechanism.
"I
believe in my discussions with Petronas they will honoured whatever
decision has been made. They are willing to collaborate with us," he
said. -- Bernama
