Catcha unit completes IPO on ASX (0173)
Catcha Media Bhd's 37.66 per cent-owned unit, iCar Asia Ltd, completed
its initial public offering (IPO) on the Australian Securities Exchange
on Sept 11.
iCar owns leading automotive sales and content websites in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.
"On
its first day of trading, iCar closed up 15 per cent at A$0.23 per
share, making our 52.5 million shares worth A$12.075 million or
approximately RM39 million," Catcha Media said in a statement today.
Chief
Executive Officer Patrick Grove said the monumental listing of iCar was
a reminder of the immense value in the online business.
"We will
continue to invest in new online opportunities and bring together the
best ideas with the best people, and as shown by the success of the
IPO, the global investment community is hungry for Asian internet
investment opportunities," he added.
