KLCI opens higher, PetGas, plantations advance

KUALA LUMPUR: Blue chips extended their rebound with Petronas stocks
and plantations among the gainers on Friday, underpinned by the strong
overnight close on Wall Street.
At 9.02am, the FBM KLCI was up
7.2 points to 1,635.6. Turnover was 30.12 million shares valued at
RM26.61mil. There were 149 gainers, 20 losers and 78 counters unchanged.
BAT was the top gainer, up 44 sen to RM63.94, PetGas rose 12 sen to RM16.72 while Maxis and PetChem added eight sen each to RM6.84 and RM6.58 while AirAsia gained seven sen to RM3.02.
Plantations rose, with Kulim and KLK up 10 sen each to RM4.86 and RM22.20 and PPB eight sen to RM12.12.
