PUTRAJAYA (April 19): The Election Commission (EC) expects the nominations results, including whether or not there will be a contest for every parliamentary and state seat, to be known by noon tomorrow.
The EC will also hold a press conference at its headquarters here to announce the results and issue the statistics of the nominations, including the number of contesting parties and candidates, independent candidates, male and female candidates, as well as the names of the youngest and oldest candidates.
The press conference will be chaired by EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof.
The nomination process for the May 5 polls is expected to be concluded early after the EC abolished the process of protest during nomination and the three-day cooling off period to withdraw candidacy.
A total of 222 nomination centres nationwide will be opened from 9am to 10am tomorrow to receive the nomination forms from the candidates contesting for 222 parliamentary and 505 state seats in the 13th general election.
