Takaful Malaysia profit climbs 31% to RM100.1mil

PETALING JAYA: Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Bhd's profit after after tax and zakat rose by 31% to RM100.1 million from RM76.4 million in the previous financial year.
For
the year under review, the group's operating revenue grew by 19% to
RM1.61 billion and total asset size increased by 9% to RM6.4billion.
The group managing director Datuk Mohamed Haasan Kamil said: " The improved profit and revenue were attributed to higher net Wakalah fee income arising from strong growth."
To date, the group Indonesia's operation contributed some 10% its total revenue.
"We are looking between year-on-year revenue growth between 20% and 25% in financial year 2013," he added.
Earnings per share (EPS) rose to 62.2 sen as compared to 47.2 sen last year.
The
group aims to increase its agency force to 2,500 via "Be myAgent"
recruitment and exploring the customer. To date, it has almost 2,000
agency.
