KUALA LUMPUR (May 7): Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has asked for
the people's support as the newly elected government seeks to build a
better nation.
"In the spirit of humility, I ask for your support as we seek to build a
better nation. It is my great honour to serve the people once more," said
the prime minister in his Twitter post.
Najib won a mandate of his own in the Sunday's general election when
the Barisan Nasional (BN) secured 133 of the 222 parliamentary seats
to form the federal government.
Yesterday, Najib took the oath of office as prime minister before the
Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah at the
Istana Negara here.
Najib has been receiving congratulatory tweets, the latest was from United States Ambassador to Malaysia Datuk Paul
W.Jones.
"Congratulations @NajibRazak on being sworn in as PM. We look forward to further expanding US-MY ties," Jones tweeted.
