I-Berhad chief executive officer Datuk Eu Hong Chew said the 25,000 sq
ft wax museum is under construction and will open by early August.

If viable, the 1.5 million sq ft mall may also feature a water themepark on the rooftop, he added.

"The idea is to integrate all our tourism products at i-City into the
mall so that we can free up space for further developments," Eu said
last week.

The current operating leisure assets at i-City include the 300,000 sq ft water themepark and the 50,000- sq ft Snowalk.

Eu said I-Berhad is considering transferring the three assets mid-way during the construction of the mall.

Central Pattana pcl (CPN), Thailand's largest retail developer, is
helping I-Berhad plan the mall development through its wholly-owned
subsidiary, CPN Global Co Ltd.

The four- to five- storey mall,
estimated to cost US$200 million (RM596 million), is now in the design
stage and construction is expected to commence within the next six to 12
months.

CPN is the leader in Thai's retail development with
the biggest share of Bangkok's retail market. It manages 21 malls,
besides other assets spanning over two million sq metres. One of its
mall projects is Central World, the world's sixth largest shopping
complex.

CPN Global and i-City Properties Sdn Bhd, a unit of
I-Berhad, have set up a 60:40 joint venture company called CPN Ventures
Sdn Bhd to develop the Central Plaza@i-City.

CPN CEO Kobchai
Chirathivat said Central Plaza@i-City will be the first of its kind in
Malaysia as it will include Thai elements like fashion and food.

"We have built a mall in Thailand with the world's largest water
themepark located on the rooftop and standing at 100,000 sq ft. If we
find it viable, we may do the same here at i-City," he said.

He said the mall that CPN is planning at i-City could be comparable to Central Plaza Lardprao and Central World in Bangkok.
