MAHB seeks damages from tardy klia2 contractors

KUALA LUMPUR (May 29): Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB)
has decided to impose liquidated ascertained damages (LAD) on
contractors who caused a delay in the CONSTRUCTION [] of the klia2
Airport, the group said.
MAHB said its board today took note of the contractors’ notification that
they are unable to meet contractual obligations for the opening date of
June 28 this year.
“The board (of MAHB) has decided to impose LAD on the respective
contractors and any other recourse available to MAHB under the
contract. The contractors have requested time to revert with a revised
date,” said MAHB in its filing to Bursa.
