One-stop shop for industry's steel needs
SINCE its establishment back in 1946, Ann Joo has grown to become one of Malaysia's most efficient and reputable steel companies.
Ann Joo boasts 66 years of experience and proven business track record in the steel industry with more than 30 years of business dealings with key steel mills in the region.
Over the years, it has accumulated the financial strength and experience to provide excellent service for the supply of steel materials to both domestic and regional clients in the oil and gas industry.
"At Ann Joo, we understand that projects regularly have demanding technical specifications, complex delivery schedules and logistics. It is for this reason that we have developed a dedicated project team that possess an understanding of sourcing for customers' project needs and the ability to fulfil each requirement," says Lawrence Lim, managing director of the trading division.
He further adds, "Regional customers can expect quality services with our new office in Singapore, which has a great-in-house sales and shipping team".
Ann Joo's trading division holds the distinction within the industrial marketplace as the nation's most outstanding distributor for the most comprehensive series of the finest grade steel products, targeted at both local and regional market spheres.
The materials are sourced from its collaboration with leading steel manufacturing steel mills from NSSMC, JFE, POSCO and other reputable steel mills in Europe, South Korea and China.
"We are equipped with large warehouses that have a highly systematic state-of-art logistic facilities for stocking, storing, and shipping steel products. By end of the year, we will expand our existing five warehouses, particularly our regional warehouse in Singapore. With this expansion, our capacity will be expanded by 60,000MT to 200,000MT," explains Lim.
He adds, "This is to cover most stringent project requirements with the availability of ex-stock, covering from a diverse range of products that includes high grade steel plates, tubular and section for the industry".
Besides being one of the biggest stockists in the region, Ann Joo has recently added another new cut to length and levelling machine, to further enhance their shearing facilities, catering mostly to the oil and gas market requirements.
"The advantage of the new machine is that it can handle the shearing range required by the industry, from a thickness of 12mm, width of two meters and maximum length of 14 meters.
"With this vastly efficient machine, Ann Joo is competent to shear the world's largest coil width to cater for large-scale projects in the industry," explains Lim.
Over the next decade, Ann Joo plans to expand into Southeast Asia, mainly Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and Indonesia through effective business collaboration with partners and associates, creating a comprehensive distribution network.
"We believe that this can be achieved through the expansion of warehousing and logistic facilities that cater strictly to regional businesses, especially the oil and gas, shipbuilding, offshore and pressure vessels and engineering and fabrication industries.
"We also intend to expand our regional businesses in the near future by establishing an office and warehouse in the most potential countries in Southeast Asia after the steadiness of Ann Joo's establishment in Singapore," says Lim.
