KUALA LUMPUR (June 19): The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed slightly higher today amid a downtrend in underlying cash market, dealers said.

Spot month June 2013 and December 2013 rose 4.5 points each to 1,771 and 1,774, respectively, July 2013 gained five points to 1,773.50 and September 2013 added three points to 1,771.

Turnover rose to 8,070 lots from 6,848 lots yesterday while open interest stood at 37,407 contracts from 36,730 contracts Tuesday.

The underlying FBM KLCI fell 1.17 points to 1,772.88.
